Tblisi, Georgia played host to the 2014 International Wine Tourism Conference. I had never before visited Eastern Europe and my mind was flooded with questions. People I spoke with before I left generally said something like “how far from Atlanta?” or “they make wines there.” Georgia is nestled between Russia to the north and Armenia and Azerbaijan to the south. It’s bordered on the west by the Black Sea. As far as making wine, they’ve done so for 8,000 years. I have numerous stories and photos to share of my time in this incredible country. I’ll start with a slide show of Tblisi and the surrounding countryside.
