Last year at this time I was still savoring my memories of eight magical days in Italy, from Umbria to Campagna at the 2012 International Wine Tourism Conference. In less than a month, I take off for this year’s conference headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia. Beginning with a walking tour of Zagreb, there will be two days of seminars featuring speakers from around the world. I’ll present the topic of delivering the ideal winery tour. Other topics include bike and wine tourism in Chile, wine tourism in India and wine tours combined with spa wellness. An evening of blues and wine is also on the agenda. If it’s anything similar to last year’s conference, I won’t be getting much rest.
As soon as the conference ends, I’ll board a bus with some fellow journalists as we head north to Friuli, Italy where we will spend three days visiting local wineries, farms and restaurants. I’ll be keeping you posted from the road. I can hardly wait!
