Masia de Yabar Urban Tasting Room is one of my favorite newcomers to the Old Town Temecula scene, so it was with great pleasure that I made plans to chat with tasting room manager, Grace Richardson about Masia’s plans for the months to come.

Snuggled  in between Delany’s 100 Mile Market and Palumbo Ristorante on 5th Street,  the charming Urban Tasting Room is open later than most, so it is a perfect place to stop off for a glass of wine as you wrap up tasting in wine country or on the way home from work.  Thursday and Saturday nights are a particular blast as the tables get pushed aside, and Salsa classes turn the place into a party.  As experienced dancers and beginners trickle in throughout the night, the tasting room comes alive with music, laughter and bodies in motion.

Live music is offered on Friday nights and crowd favorite Diego Mondragon lights the room on fire with passionate Latin music until midnight.  Wednesday, December 15th will mark the first Karaoke Night so wanna-be singers like me can have a fun place to practice Christmas carols or play “rock star” while enjoying exceptional Argentinian style wine.  For those in town that are not huge wine drinkers (we know you are out there), Masia also offers several beers on tap so you need not go parched.

Speaking of wine, Masia deYabar offers fresh-made Sangria every Thursday through Saturday: a perfect sip to quench your thirst after all that singing and dancing!  Their most popular varietal, the Monastrell, is sold out, so Grace is recommending the Tempranillo for your holiday table.   This versatile wine pairs well with roasted meats, lamb, mushroom flavors and, of course, paella.  Flavors of plum, berry, leather and herb make this a perfect wine to serve with any meal.  Also popular this time of year is their NV Port.  Deep ruby color and rich flavor make this a perfect finish for your evening meal as you sit by the fire with friends.

Next up for this wonderful venue will be the addition of wines from their 300 acres in Argentina.  As such, I eagerly await the opportunity to sample more of their phenomenal Malbec.  In addition, authentic tapas will be served each evening which will give us yet another reason to enjoy Masia’s hospitality.  In the meantime, Grace hopes that you will join her and her amazing team for a special New Year’s Eve party.  Masia de Yabar is an intimate space, so we anticipate this event will sell out quickly.  Make sure you reserve early for an opportunity to ring in the New Year with excellent music, great people and exceptional wine!  For more information, please contact her at: 951-506-5953.
