On April 20, 2010, an oil rig exploded off Louisana’s coast, spilling millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico. Six months later, how has the region fared? I traveled to Alabama’s Gulf Coast to take a look for myself. Thanks to exhaustive, ongoing clean-up efforts, the area looks absolutely beautiful. The sand is like powdered sugar. The seafood has been put through every test you can imagine and has passed with flying colors. The people of Alabama are gracious and are waiting to welcome you back. I’ll be sharing stories of my four day visit in the weeks to come. In the meantime, here are some images from a visit I won’t forget.
