It’s hard for me to believe that three days from now I’ll be heading east. Waaaay east. The International Wine Tourism Conference 2012 gets underway this coming Monday, January 30 in Perugia, Italy. Not only will I be attending, I have the privilege of speaking at the conference on creative writing. Saturday morning I’ll land at Rome’s Fiumicino airport, where I will meet up with a group of fellow bloggers as we eat and drink our way through Orvieto, Montefalco and Torgiano before finally arriving in Perugia in the heart of Umbria.
The 4th annual wine tourism conference will feature more than 40 talks, tons of networking opportunities allowing the chance to meet and visit with wine lovers and experts from around the world all while enjoying amazing food and wine. It’s a good thing Perugia is a walking city, because I’ve seen the itinerary and it looks dangerous.
While I’m gone, I’ll be posting to the blog as well as our Facebook and twitter pages. Mrs. WINEormous will be holding down the fort in my absence. I can’t wait for this incredible adventure. Ciao!
