There are also lots of bunnies and lizards at Oak Mountain. It’s a dog’s paradise. I must say their lizards are too fast for me and their bunnies disappear as soon as I approach. (It must be those darn jingling bells around my neck that warn them.) But I will not give up.
My recollection gets a little hazy here as I allow myself to thoroughly relax and melt into the experience. I did manage to ascertain that the Vino Therapy facial costs $75.00. It is an ideal treat for anyone after a day of Temecula vineyard touring and tasting.
Three Leaning Tower of Pisas and an Eiffel Tower in Temecula? It's all in a weekend's work. The Temecula Winegrowers Association presented its 20th popular Worl...
Diego made many people happy retrieving his marinated tennis balls for them. Young, old, softball pitchers, not-so-talented-ball throwers, he wasn't picky and he played with them all.
This created a slight dilemma because Steve wanted to go with a Chardonnay and Valerie had her heart set on Tempranillo. The solution? They served both and asked us which pairing we preferred.
Wilmer and Carlos are both natives of Perú, while Waleed was born in Lebanon. Wilmer and Carlos both practice dentistry, but in 2003, Wilmer planted roughly 75 acres of Malbec in Argentina. They met Waleed at the DePortola location and came up with the idea of opening a tasting room in Old Town. Like the De Portola location, the Old Town location will offer not only wine, but live music and food, too.

We were blessed to have winemaker par excellece Don Reha sailing with us. Don is the Executive Winemaker at both Thornton and Orfila Wineries and he presided over the first of several wine tastings scheduled for the week. We tasted Thornton’s non-vintage Brut Reserve Methode Champenoise Sparkling Wine, Sans Oak Chardonnay, Cabernet-Merlot and finally the incredible Estate Syrah, accompanied by a selection of fruit and cheeses.
For starters, I don't think you'll find a better pourer anywhere than Jamie Schmutzer. Her passion for wine shines through in everything she does. If you're lucky enough to have her pour for you and you're not smiling when you're done, check yourself into the hospital. Clearly there's something wrong with you.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Steve and Valerie Andrews from Oak Mountain & Temecula Creek. They were some of the first winery folk we met way before we...
