A fun appetizer on the menu is the Green Deviled Eggs and Ham, a green deviled egg with a ham croquette. When it came time to order our main course, I couldn’t resist the Pan Seared Shrimp & Grits. Delicious!
On to our third course and two wonderful fish dishes—Wild Alaskan Salmon plated with a citrus rice and spicy eggplant and paired with Chamisal Vineyards Pinot Noir from Edna Valley and a perfectly prepared Seared Alaskan Halibut served with horseradish sunchoke puree and a cherry tomato relish accompanied by Domaine Dupeuble Gamay from Beaujolais. Oh, but we were just getting to the main course!
Because there are over 30 wines by the glass available on the menu, we were able to select a different glass of wine for each course. We sampled two whites, the Villa Tavernango Campo Blanco Pinot Grigio with its dry pear and citrus flavors and minerality, and the San Felice Tenuta Perolla Vermentino and Sauvignon blend with tastes of green apple and lime.
Our tasting started with a "must try", the Sea Salt Iced Coffee. It arrived with a layer of foamy cream on top and was in a sealed glass. We were told to shake the drink and then insert our straw. This was truly a mythical coffee drink!
