We chose to walk in the footsteps on the Impressionists aboard Panache, marrying art with our wine tastings. Excursions on our tour included Auvers-sur-Oise, the last home and final resting place of Vincent Van Gogh, Giverny, the home of Claude Monet’s house and garden, and several Impressionism museums.
From Ken "wow, very cool nose, like raisins covered in grape jelly with a chocolate coating." Kim said she could drink it every night. Laura called it delicious with classic Zin flavors. Judi said it tasted like spice cake.
Laura thought it was a fun, kicky wine good for easy going evenings on the patio. Jim and Judi thought the name suited it to a "t" and liked the bright red fruit and body. Kim called it spicy and very nice and Brian called it a heavy duty wine, "subtly sexy."
Jim and Judi called it "excellent! Tastes like the grape it's made from." Brian called it "smooth and dark like a sultry night that you want never to end."
The beautifully designed labels make the wine a nice souvenir from a Hilton Head vacation, much more desirable, in my opinion, than another hat, t-shirt or water bottle. Wine is always a great gift, and a bottle with a beautiful label and a story about a fabulous trip is even more special.
Our friends, like us, raved about class themed “Off the Hook” featuring seafood preparations with whites and sparkling wines. “Romantic Roman and Italian Dinners”, also immensely popular and fun feature the winery’s bold reds.
This wine offered plenty of citrus on the nose, mostly lime and was mineral on the palate. It proved quite food friendly and was wonderful with the St. Géric blue-veined triple crème from Fromagerie Guilloteau.
